The WoodNet Outreach, Advice and Training Programme is based at the inspiring Woodland Enterprise Centre (WEC) near Flimwell on the East Sussex/Kent border in the heart of the High Weald and surrounded by semi-natural ancient woodland. The Programme offers outreach visits, practical training, seminars and educational experiences in partnership with Plumpton College, the University of Brighton and a number of independent training providers with support from Leader+, SEEDA, Plumpton College and the Ernest Cook Trust.

The Woodland Enterprise Centre includes a permanent classroom available for up to 20 participants seated at desks or 40 participants without desks, with high quality digital audio-visual and overhead projection equipment, the exhibition hall and a smaller meeting room, all with easy access to the surrounding working woodland.

WoodNet’s educational aims are specifically concerned with the sustainable management of lowland woodlands and the production of useful timber products, particularly wood fuel and timber for architectural components. WoodNet has a well-established track record of providing expert speakers, practical workshops, technical seminars, guided tours and exhibitions throughout the South East.

The WoodNet Outreach, Advice & Training Programme is supported by The Ernest Cook Trust, Leader+ WARR Partnership, Plumpton College, SEEDA and Woodland Enterprises Limited.
