Hot Chips at WEC

Weald WoodNet will be testing different types of wood fuel at the Woodland Enterprise Centre thanks to funding from SEEDA. Wood chips and pellets from local forestry residues, coppice, arboricultural waste, biomass and woody manufacturing waste will be tested for both fuel quality and emissions in the recently installed Arimax 340 BIO boiler. This system is providing heat and hot water for 550 square feet of office and exhibition space.  The equipment is modern and automated, heralding a new era in heat supply from wood fuel, offering a ‘carbon neutral’ alternative to fossil fuels and a crucial developing market for English forestry.

The test results will contribute to the future co-ordination of wood fuel processing and the development of the heat supply company for the south-east, Lignatherm Ltd.

Those interested in supplying the wood fuel market or becoming a wood fuel customer please contact Weald WoodNet.
