WoodLots
needs YOU!
At least a quarter of the annual funds required to put WoodLots together and deliver it to your door are raised through display advertising and donations. In order to ensure the continuation of the WoodLots service we need to meet this target as soon as possible within the financial year.

Please take a moment to think about the value you gain from WoodLots - as a reader, advertiser, buyer, seller, etc, and consider supporting the service by making a financial contribution.

You can do this in two ways. As an individual, you can make a tax efficient donation to WoodNet as a WoodLots Friend or as a business you can place a display advertisement within the magazine and draw attention to your product, service or business.

A further way to help WoodLots is to become an email subscriber, particularly if you are on broadband. Rather than receiving a hard copy 4 times a year, you receive email notification of the latest issue online - you can browse or download your own copy. Just email me, jenny@woodnet.org.uk, with a request to become an email subscriber.

Our funders always like to hear about how effective WoodLots is, so please let me know how WoodLots is working for you - increased business, useful contacts, helpful information, a good sale or purchase, a new job or employee - just a brief note or email explaining any benefits WoodLots has given you will help us raise the funds required to keep the service going.

Back to this issue - we have Richard Smith’s comments on the dramatic changes in the soft-wood market and a request for your feedback (pages 8-10), news about the Oak Processionary Moth, information on grants, certification and the recently published Woodfuel Strategy for England, all in the News section. You’ll find opportunities to survey ancient trees, for subsidised training and for supplying charcoal. Plus, of course, nearly 300 advertisements connecting the timber, tree and wood using businesses and organisations throughout the South East.

I hope you enjoy this issue.
